As part of the “For Women in Science” initiative, every year, L'ORÉAL and UNESCO award five prizes and 15 international fellowships.

The L'ORÉAL-UNESCO Award recognises internationally leading female researchers for their life’s work or for outstanding achievements in research. It also endows the winner with 100,000 USD. One prize is awarded per continent.  The 15 international L'ORÉAL-UNESCO Rising Talents Fellowships have been awarded to the winners of 236 national academics since 2014. Its aim is to help the laureates to continue their research careers or to pursue a research career.
