In order to further strengthen the role of young people in the Austrian Commission for UNESCO, a youth advisory panel was set up in spring 2006.

- Analysis of all UNESCO programmes with regard to topic areas relevant to young people
Development of the panel’s own focal points
- Regular exchange of information and opinions within the committee
Cooperation with the other committees and working communities within the Austrian UNESCO Commission
- Contribution to the positioning of Austria in the respective topic areas
- Triggering a broader, Austria-wide discourse, taking initiatives and generating public resonance, as well as public awareness initiatives (through podium discussions, seminars, conferences, publications in cooperation with the Austrian UNESCO Commission, etc...)
