Youth Advisory Panel of the Austrian Commission for UNESCO

In order to further strengthen the role of young people in the Austrian Commission for UNESCO, a youth advisory panel was set up in spring 2006.

independent committee of youths, young representatives and young experts to engage with and represent youth matters relating to UNESCO. The Youth Advisory Panel is chaired by Ines Erker (Youth Representative).  Tasks of the Youth Advisory Panel

  •  Analysis of all UNESCO programmes with regard to topic areas relevant to young people
    Development of the panel’s own focal points
  • Regular exchange of information and opinions within the committee
    Cooperation
    with the other committees and working communities within the Austrian UNESCO Commission
  • Contribution to the positioning of Austria in the respective topic areas
  • Triggering a broader, Austria-wide discourse, taking initiatives and generating public resonance, as well as public awareness initiatives (through podium discussions, seminars, conferences, publications in cooperation with the Austrian UNESCO Commission, etc...)
