The Austrian Commission for UNESCO and the association Work Smart are jointly presenting “Mobility Arts & Culture Austria”. The platform provides free and publicly accessible information and advice for people working in the arts and culture who are or would like to become internationally active.

The platform covers a wide range of topics relevant to cross-border activities in the arts and culture sector. These include visa and residence regulations, social security, tax law, employment law, copyright and contract law. The aim is to make it easier for artists and cultural professionals to access the necessary information and thus support their international mobility.

“Mobility Arts & Culture Austria” is part of the international network of Mobility Info Points and builds on the experience of the ‘Art Mobility Austria’ project, which was completed at the end of 2024. In addition to the information website, the new platform also offers consultation, regular information formats and workshops, which are organized by the association Work Smart under the direction of Sabine Kock.

Arts and Culture Minister Werner Kogler, whose ministry made the development of “Mobility Arts & Culture Austria” financially possible, is also delighted with the new project: “Crossing borders, getting to know new things, exchanging ideas with others and being inspired by diversity is a matter of course in the arts. This is one of the reasons why art is always exemplary for our society. The new 'Mobility Arts & Culture Austria' platform facilitates access to important information for artists and all those working in the arts who want to gain new experiences in other countries or come to us from other countries, thereby contributing to international exchange and cultural diversity.”
